On July 7th, two of Access Your Care staff members , Pauline and Lisa, visited Worle Community school. Pauline carried out mock interviews with year 10 students. The aim of this exercise was to give the students valuable experience of what the recruitment process is like in real life.
We spoke to Lisa and this is what she had to say: “The students had to produce a CV and act as if it was a real interview, we then had set questions to ask them to see how they would handle the interview. Every interviewee was awarded a certificate and the ones that stood out in their interview got an extra certificate.”
Feedback from the teacher regarding the students who attended:
“A lot of students said how the interviewers were friendly/approachable as well as easy to talk to”
“I think a lot of them felt really nervous beforehand but were put at ease straight away”
“Quite a few felt it was a really good experience to go through”
“Lots of them were very happy and felt it was way less daunting than they thought it would be!”
“The feedback I had from the students was really positive, they were happy to have the experience and found it useful.”
